Journey-Powered Judaism

On the Appalachian Trail, surrounded by towering peaks and quiet stillness, Nadav Slovin found what he was searching for—a deeper connection with God, with himself, and with the path ahead. He had always known the God of our ancestors, but like Abraham, he felt called to Lech-Lecha—to go forth and seek something more.

Growing up at Camp Ramah, where his parents worked, Nadav developed a love for the outdoors and Jewish life. But it was in the wilderness—away from distractions, expectations, and the hum of everyday life—that he discovered his purpose.

A year later, eager to share that transformative experience, he invited a few friends on a trek. They returned refreshed, renewed, and inspired, urging him to bring this experience to others. That small group became the first Board and Donors of Lech-Lecha.

What began as a single journey has grown into a movement.

 

Today, Lech-Lecha has guided hundreds of young Jews into the mountains, creating space for personal growth, deep connection, and spiritual discovery. We now serve adults, teens, and families, each forging their own unique path.
